SPecial Announcement! We're taking a bit of a break

Hi everyone!

We're putting this out on the feed for any of you that might miss it on social media.

So, we’ve been going on for over 2 years, 61 mainline episodes and a bunch of bonus episodes too, and we have loved every minute of it. We’ve had some great fun arguing and coming up with some crazy pitches from Oompa loompas to Dominic Toretto punching asteroids heading to earth.

After the new year we planned to do a soft reboot of the show to focus on the competition element and to shorten our review section and give our patrons something special to listen to. We're very pleased with the shape of things, but it's not all been plain sailing over here.

A peak behind the curtain here pitch pals. We do this podcast for fun now of course we have a patreon and we are hugely grateful to anyone who subscribes, but we all have boring day jobs and other commitments that we have to balance as well.

Something we have been overlooking is our own mental health. We have been pushing on sometimes ignoring the warning signs in our own bodies and minds. We can sometimes overlook men's mental health, and we four definitely aren't immune to that. But it has got to a point in which we need to listen.

So after listening, we have made the call to put Sequel Pitch on hold, just for a couple of months.

We love our show, and we love what we do, so we are going to rest, recharge, and come back better than ever before! It also gives us this precious time to spend with family, but also work on the podcast like we had wanted to!

We love you and all your support you give the podcast. As always, if you know someone you think would have fun with the show we've got over 60 episodes for everyone to listen to! Also, we're still going to put out any SPoilercast we can get off the ground in the meantime, AND we will be back with a very special episode on April 18th with the return of Videogame director Mike Bithell (who is currently hard at work on Tron Identity for Disney, oooooooo), pitching our sequels to the 1993 Mario Brothers movie!

So for now it’s goodbye, but we'll be back on April 18th

Drew Toynbee

Drew is a husband and dad who has been listening to podcasts for ten years and is very excited to have finally come up with an idea for one that people might actually like, which handily ties together his lifelong love of film, and some of his best friends.

When he's not coming up with sequel ideas, editing the show or watching movies, he is a freelance podcast editor and producer with several products on the go, or you can find him spending time with his family and pets, doing DIY, playing Dungeons & Dragons or videogames, or dabbling in a bit of music or amateur dramatics.

Matt Rushton

Matt is an actor, gamer, and wannabe Viking. He has used lockdown as the perfect excuse to keep growing his hair!

His favourite way to spend time is through some form of escapism - be that acting, playing an assortment of different characters in Dungeons & Dragons or video games, or simply immersing himself in characters’ lives playing out in movies & TV shows.

He apparently enjoys these even more when he gets to share the experience with his fellow Pitchers!

It all started on a cold February morning in 1989, suddenly he was born.

Since then, Andy has loved nothing more than watching movies. He was a film extra when he was younger and now writes, acts and directs his own short films.

He's also a gamer; not a great one but he has a go. He gets too carried away when playing Dungeons and Dragons and is training for next years world Thumb War championship with his gladiator, Donald Thumbp.
