The meeting of minds is back! This week, Ross is hosting after last week's guest, Film Joy's Mikey Neumann, set us the unenviable but hilariously cruel challenge of pitching sequels to Gone with the Wind, the sweeping and undeniably problematic in a modern context 1939 epic romance starring Clark Gable, Vivien Leigh, Leslie Howard, and Olivia de Havilland.
Expect s lot of discussion about the terrible oppression of black people under the confederacy, so much bafflement about how the characters realising slavery was wrong not being part of this story, and a lot of discussion about the ethics of viewing films like this one in a modern context. It was a really... energetic but fascinating discussion to have
